News: Delta ten year anniversary news

It would be impossible to list here all the events and achievements from the last ten years, but here are just a few:

Theatre
2006-10 year old Jasmine Cross is back with us, fresh from her role of Jemima in 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' alongside Brian Conley in the Manchester Palace Theatre. *10 pupils appeared in La Boheme, at the North Wales Theatre, with the Ukrainian National Opera. *Jessica Young, with her partner Isabel Crowther, won the title of Musical Theatre Young Performer of the Year
Television
2003 - Delta children appeared in a special Eastender's episode. 2006-Olivia Petie, Emily Morgan, Lauren Collo and Charlotte Kelly were invited to audition for the BBC, for a new television drama called 'Roman Mysteries'. Special mention should be made of Olivia, who made it to the final three out of several hundred.
Past pupil successes
Becky Evans went to study at Rose Bruford college in London. Kimberley Wright went to Elmhurst Ballet School. Helen Davies gained a place at Royal Holloway and then SSL to study drama. Sarah Spence, our drama assistant, went off to train further at the prestigious Italia Conte Academy. Sophie Edwards has gone on to study dance at LIPA.
Productions
Productions include: Our Day Out, Sweet Charity, Wizard of Oz, Bugsy Malone, Halloween Horror Night, Dracula Spectacula, Shakers, The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Deadly Sins, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Ernie's Incredible Illucinations, The Quest for the Lamp
Exams
8 school sessions of Lamda exams, 4 sessions of NCM singing exams, 10 sessions of dance exams. All children have achieved good to exceptional results.
Our team
* In addition to our regular team, we have been joined by our new singing teacher, Gemma McHale, who has been a big hit with our pupils, and produced fantastic results. Gemma is a very talented musician and singer in her own right. * Our dance teacher Naomi Jones, has now completed her full teaching qualification, and is now an Associate of the Allied Dance Association. She is currently studying dance at university in Liverpool, and returns home every weekend to teach for us. * Our Friday night drama assistant, Ceri Wynn is sadly leaving us to go to University, where she will study speech therapy. Ceri was one of our pupils the night Delta opened, and is one of only two pupils receiving their ten year badge tonight. She has the distinction of being Delta's only pupil to take all her Lamda exams, up to teacher's level, and we know she is going to be a great success. We don't know what we will do without her, and she will be missed!
What's in store for next year
In the Autumn term we will be holding National College of Music singing exams, and the Wrexham Festival of Speech and Drama. We will be entering some groups in the 'Musical Theatre Young performers' competition, and the Delta troupes will be competing at festivals across the area. In the summer term we will put on a full scale Delta production, at the Stiwt Theatre.
Uniform
In September 2006 we are introducing a new Delta uniform, which will consist of black and blue polo shirts, and dance vests, all embroidered with the Delta logo.
